2022 Conducting School
The 2022 MTO Conducting Course, presented by More Than Opera, will be the second of its kind and is an opportunity for anyone who has considered a career in conducting or would like to develop some conducting skills for school and amateur ensembles.
This edition will focus on opera repertoire and will guide the student through the special skills required in the opera theatre and when working with singers.
Alan Cook, an internationally experienced conductor with over a decade of experience in opera, symphonic, and choral conducting will take you through baton technique, score study, and practical workshops with piano, orchestra and soloists to set you on course towards your conducting goals. It is difficult to get experience in front of an orchestra, and this course will give you the perfect opportunity to work with a live orchestra in a nurturing and encouraging environment.

Programme to be announced soon which will include a public performance of selected opera excerpts.
